Je suis né le 22 juillet 1957 à Rimouski, dans la région du Bas-St-Laurent au Québec.
À l’emploi de la compagnie Hydro-Québec pendant 33 ans, j’ai parcouru la province de la Côte-Nord à la Montérégie pour revenir enfin dans ma ville natale. Retraité depuis 2010 je travaille à plein temps maintenant comme artiste-peintre.
Autodidacte, je perfectionne mon art depuis 1994 utilisant comme médium l’huile puis l’acrylique, le pastel et le crayon. Entre temps je participe à différents symposiums, expositions solo ou de groupe. Lors d’une formation universitaire à l’ UQAR, j’obtiens un certificat à la maîtrise en pratique artistique. Dans le cadre du programme d’enseignement au primaire et pré-scolaire de cette même université, je prête assistance aux étudiant(tes) sur le cercle chromatique et le processus de créativité. Enfin, des cours privés sont offerts sur demande à l’occasion.
Actuellement je suis en pleine création à mon Atelier-Galerie où je m’adonne à ce plaisir particulier que me procure la peinture. Mais cela ne m’empêche pas de penser fortement qu’être peintre n’est pas quelque chose d’un instant mais bien une recherche constante, une démarche personnelle qui dure toute une vie.
I was born on July 22, 1957 in Rimouski, in the Bas-St-Laurent region of Quebec.
Employed by the company Hydro-Quebec for 33 years, I traveled from the province of Côte-Nord to Montérégie to finally return to my hometown. Retired since 2010 I work full time now as a painter.
Self-taught, I have been perfecting my art since 1994 using oil as a medium, then acrylic, pastel and pencil. In the meantime I take part in various symposia, solo or group exhibitions. During a university training at UQAR, I obtain a master’s certificate in artistic practice. As part of the primary and pre-school education program of the same university, I assist students on the color wheel and the process of creativity. Finally, private lessons are offered on request from time to time.
Currently I am in the middle of creation at my Workshop-Gallery where I indulge in this particular pleasure that painting gives me. But that does not prevent me from thinking strongly that being a painter is not something for a moment but a constant search, a personal process that lasts a lifetime.
